Australian Unity’s Aboriginal Home Care service provides culturally appropriate home and community services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout New South Wales.
We currently work in metropolitan, regional and remote areas and we plan to expand into more areas over time including into Victoria and Queensland.
Our team includes 300 Aboriginal staff members who have been carefully selected and trained to meet your support and cultural needs.

We provide dignified support in the comfort of your own home. This includes assistance with bathing and showering, dressing and undressing, getting in and out of bed, going to the toilet and preparing meals.
Our experienced team of healthcare professionals can provide services in your home. This includes support with balance, breathing and respiratory care, falls prevention, foot care, mobility, muscle strengthening, nutrition, rehabilitation and safety.
Our qualified nurses support your health at home. They can provide a full assessment, referral and care for continence management, managing ongoing illness, managing medications, pain management and wound care.
With our flexible community support, you can continue to enjoy activities, cultural celebrations and time with friends and family. You might be interested in attending a Yarn Up, NAIDOC and Back to Country Celebrations, joining an art and craft group, going shopping, or getting involved in the Elder Olympics. We can assist you to do the things you love to do with your community.
We offer routine home and garden maintenance services to keep your home the way you like it. This includes edging and hedging, mowing and pruning, weeding and rubbish removal and basic maintenance jobs around your home.
Our in-home services will keep your home as clean and tidy as you like it. We clean throughout the home, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping. We also offer more intensive spring cleaning services.
We provide regular, loving care for your furry friend in your home. We offer support with feeding, grooming, walking and cleaning up after your pet and can also oversee a visit to the vet.
We recognise and understand the important connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to their community, culture and country.
At Australian Unity, reconciliation matters to us. Our Reconciliation Action Plan outlines how we are playing our part.
We support our clients to take part in local community events and activities. We also host regular Yarn Ups and celebrations to mark national events such as NAIDOC Week, Reconciliation Week and Sorry Day.
